PUBMET2026, the 13th Conference on Scholarly Communication in the Context of Open Science will be held this year at the University of Zadar – New Campus building from 9 to 11 September 2026.

The main Conference theme is “Community in Scholarly Communication: Governance, Responsibility, and Shared Infrastructures.” This event offers a valuable platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and discussing key aspects of quality in open access scholarly communication.

By supporting the Conference, you will have the opportunity to present your products and services to a wide audience, from researchers, academic teachers, publishers, editors, librarians, information and communication experts, to policymakers.

This year’s Conference will focus on the following topics, not excluding other topics related to Open Science:

• community engagement, openness and collaboration in scholarly communication, including interactions between academic, professional, and wider public communities and how they engage with research outputs
• capacity building in open access, including infrastructure for open access publishing and repositories
• community ownership and governance in open scholarly publishing, including publishing models, editorial management, open science practice monitoring, research data management and stewardship
• roles of institutions, libraries, researchers, and service providers in open scholarly publishing
• shared responsibilities, ethics, and evaluation, including research integrity and ethical practices within communities, responsible research assessment, peer review cultures and community norms
• research results (research data, software and any other type of data) underlying peer-reviewed publications and their curation
• sharing, reuse, and rights in open scholarly communication, including FAIR and CARE metadata, legal and policy aspects of licensing, rights retention, and secondary publishing
• inclusion, diversity, and community boundaries, including multilingualism and disciplinary differences
• sustainability of community-based approaches and infrastructures in open access, including alignment of business models with community values.
